William Golightly

It's easy to assume Golightly has a higher position than he does. He's older than most in his position, and he carries himself with an caution and organization that's uncharacteristic for a sailor of his rank. He stands at an average height with a wide slightly muscular build. However, his physical strength isn't reflected in his face. He seems seems almost gaunt, with a long, tired look in his eyes. His eyes are blue and his hair is black. It's cut very short, almost completely shaved down on the sides and only small patches of facial hair occupy his chin. A long shallow scar across his forehead that continues through his left eyebrow. His clothing reflects his status, patch work clothes in faded reds and darkened whites. He wears a cross around his neck under his shirt, but more out of pragmatic superstition than any real faith.

Bad luck's always seemed to follow Golightly in life. The crews he joins never seem to last long, being struck by storms, pirates, and broken equipment. Normally a sailor of his age and experience would've become an officer or another position, but no crew he's been with has lasted long enough for him to gain promotions or a reputation as a sailor. After surviving by the skin of his teeth time after time, he's become a suspicious and nearly paranoid person, keeping a keen eye on the people around him and the cities he ends up in. He's very superstitious, believing his that his bad luck is due to some external supernatural force. He wears a cross, but also carries other supposedly mystical trinkets which he places just as much faith in.
